Why Mesoamerica?


Mesoamerica is the cultural and geographic region joining the North and South of the Americas.  Our region has a very diverse population and bioregions, rich in subcultures, at short distance from each other, in a workable time zone for the continent.  Because of this diversity and strategic location, we believe to be an ideal location for a Block Producer and ideal testing ground for developing world blockchain applications that have analogous characteristics to several other parts of the world.

Eosmeso is headquartered in Guatemala, at the heart of MesoAmerica, the navel of the earth.  We want Guatemala to become ground zero for blockchain based solutions to  developing world problems relating to water, land use, denomination of origin and supply chain transparency, institutional accountability, insurance and reinsurance, micro investment and other use cases in need of reliable, affordable and transparent transactions.  

At eosmeso, we understand the compounding positive effects for the entire EOS network of using a proportion of BP rewards to directly fund projects in our community. We have chosen several established institutions, whose work can be amplified by a continuous stream of funding and whose contact with eos in this way should lead to more and more people knowing about the virtues of our system and adopting the use of it.

Eos MesoAmerica Is a coalition of Artists, Entrepreneurs, Developers, IT Professionals, VCs, Media partners, University Faculty and Trustees, Law and Finance experts, Telecom and Energy start ups and execs, Business School Founders, Impact Investors and Blockchain Community Organizers; banded together as EOS BP candidates. We have a strong presence in MesoAmerica and wish to lead the adoption of EOS locally in order to transform our society for the better.
We are ready to create blockchain solutions to developing world challenges, many of which are already in the alpha or beta phase like: Real time decentralized audit of electoral processes, Tokenization of Reforestation efforts and tree life cycles, Coffee and Kakao Supply Chain transparency, University Tuition Futures, Certification of Skills for Youth to get employment, facilitate the creation of economic Cooperatives locally or “HyperCoops”, Digital rights for music production and concert crowdfunding; and already in commercial use a local stablecoin soon to be passed from hyperledger to eos. These projects will be accelerated by your vote!


WHY DISCLOSE The purpose of this post is to disclose the ownership structure and internal governance policy to our voters and the community at large.

Also, we want to go further than what we are obliged by the agreements to do, and set the example of how a business of the future should behave.


Libre al Viento Management Corp is a corporation created under the laws of the British Virgin Islands, we chose this jurisdiction because of its tradition of common law, and to provide us with an internationally recognized jurisdiction to operate legally from. Libre al Viento Management Corp issued a privately placed offering “EOS MESOAMERICA: Jade 1”, which basically constitutes an agreement between stakeholders in eosMeso and the management team. The agreement is best summarized as follows:

Libre al Viento is the operator, in charge of strategy and operations, whose mandate is to win the votes of as many eos tokenholders as possible, while respecting the internal ethical guidelines as well as EOS Constitution and Ricardian Contracts, and pay out to stakeholders 95% of eos obtained, during the time in which the USD350,000 raised from partners lasts. Libre al Viento will get to keep 4% of eos obtained as management fee and 1% of income will go to ceiba.io blockchain community to be managed in concert by the 21 people who have contributed the most to the formation and momentum of the group, only 8 of which are part of eosMeso.

Before the USD funds raised run out, partners have first rights to continue to fund the enterprise in proportion to their active stake in the campaign, and management has the right to determine the amount of capital to call for, as long as it remains under double the original amount. If Management deems more capital is necessary, a majority of partners must agree to raise the call for capital further. This allows for flexibility and never running out of funds, regardless of eos token price in USD terms. Also, it allows for more and more partners to join the campaign and participate. We believe this decentralized and privately placed approach to capital formation is our of our long term keys to success.

Libre al Viento is the Managing Partner in the Jade 1 offering, and has 3 owners: Jose Toriello, 37.5%, Luis Fernando Gramajo 37.5% and Bullbro Inc, 25%, a family office holding corporation that Carlos Toriello represents on Libre al Viento Board. Remember, Libre al Viento will only receive 4% of any eos obtained from the BP candidacy results.

This structure is novel in three main ways. It prevents eosMeso from needing to liquidate eos tokens in order to be able to pay for real world services, which is important in our region at least, and might become an attack vector on the network at large (think of all the bitcoin debit cards cancelled last year). If BP’s need to liquidate their eos to purchase servers, pay for services, etc, it creates downward price pressure. Our model works in the opposite way. We raise and spend USD and deliver eos to our partners. Win for eosMeso campaign, Win for esoMeso partners and Win for eostokenholders. The structure is also novel in that it allows for stakeholders the option to exit or continue on with us, at least once per year. This means that over time, our partners will change, some will be new, others will leave. We will continue to publish this data as it happens, usually once or twice per year.

Hardware and Infrastructure
Most people don’t know, but our region has a very robust internet infrastructure. The combination of a good telecom and energy legal framework and the geographical location between Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, have made it a hotbed for international internet connections. There is a 2/1 phone numbers to people ratio in Guatemala since many people have a phone with 2 or even 3 providers. The competition among the largest players and newcomers has been great for the customer. This environment is great for eosMeso too, because we can migrate our DEDICATED SERVERS from provider to provider or locate our OWN SERVERS if we wish, inside proven data centers with industry standard operations that will be very onerous to maintain for a single service that is not inside a shared facility and expose the network to attack if done without professional expertise. Having ISO certified tier 3 data centers at our disposal from several different providers, all vying to win our business is something positive for the network, both on redundancy and on network cost sides of the equation.



We have been very public about our large partner base.  You can study many of the faces and profiles of our partners in our www.eosmeso.io page or in our previous steemit posts.  

Our of respect and safety of our partners, we prefer not to disclose each person’s particular proportion publicly, but we will disclose the cap table structure to explain the point of how decentralized our structure is already.   Only the largests holders will be made public, to adhere to the spirtit of the rules, which by the way do not force us to disclose these.

Our partners have provided capital for our operation, whether in cash or through “sweat equity” in the following proportions, which allow them to vote on major issues in the same proportion.  These are the proportions of the 41 the real owners of eosMeso, and can choose a different management team if they see fit. Part of our internal agreement states that we shall not participate in any other BP campaign as partner or receiving payment, until after 1 full year of having cut ties with eosMeso.  None of our partners have an interest in any other BP *(except maybe eosDac, since some might still have the airdrop tokens they received without asking for them). 95% of the eos tokens eosMeso gains from our candidacy, while the Jade 1 round lasts, will be disbursed in the following manner:

  • I as (member) of eosMeso hereby pledge:
  • To embody the values of protecting life, libery and property in my daily actions.
  • To learn about EOS to the best of my ability in order to best inform others about EOS, when asked. This includes staying up to date on the standing EOS Constitution and Block Producer agreements.
  • To represent eosMeso with integrity and honesty in my daily activites. This entails NEVER saying or implying to anyone that they will receive something of value in direct exchange for a vote. We may give all our best and all we can, only without conditions or expectations.
  • Reaching out to management team when asked about something related to our candidacy that is unclear or unknown to me. I pledge not to speak without confidence that I am speaking the truth and with precision.
  • Participating with joy, patience and responsibility in building a better future for myself, my people and my planet.
  • To communicate with clarity regarding my role within eosMeso, when engaging others on the subject, i.e, to communicate my official role within eosMeso.
  • As a member of eosMeso, I might be entitled to a portion of results were eosMeso to receive enough votes. I pledge that I am not member, with financial reward, of any other Block Producer candidate, and shall wait 1 year after cutting all ties with eosMeso before joining any other BP group.
  • I understand that being a member is an honor that entails, at least in part, being in the public eye, I pledge to behave publicly, with this in mind and careful that what I do and say can affect other members and eosMeso in general. I will strive to be an example to the world that is watching.
  • If I am a staff member of eosMeso, I additionaly pledge to work diligently and truthfully to accomplish our goals, in my area of expertise, to communicate effectively with all other staff members and to work out any differences in opinion first within our group and later to the eosMeso non-staff members and world at large.

To foster the adoption of the main EOS blockchain by leveraging our networks

  • Our partners have strong local and global networks in diverse fields like app development, venture capital, ticketing, international commerce, commodities export, trade finance, university, real estate development, microfinance, IT infrastructure, energy, telecomm, music and film. They will serve as EOS ambassadors in their respective fields, especially if we are a top 21 block producer! Please have a look at our partners and advisors, a diverse group to have EOS reach every industry in the region.
  • Some of our partners and both our managers are founding members of ceiba.io, a for impact nonprofit association educating public and private groups through free of charge workshops and publications since 2016.   Eosmeso commits to donating 1% of our block reward revenues directly to ceiba.io for it to continue its labor of educating the business and tech community in MESOAMERICA about the improvements to society that can be achieved through the use of blockchain technology, we also support another 4 impact/charity groups already, and have plans to include more groups who have a record of delivery in their fields. If these institutions receive our block rewards, then they will surely tell everybody about how great EOS is!

To be transparent in the use of resources, our relationships to providers, investors, partners and the network at large

  • The way we see it, the EOS network will power a much more transparent and auditable world.
    As responsible stewards of the network in our region, we believe we must set an example of what is to be expected from a business of the future. Therefore, we will to publish relevant company data, allowing for the privacy of individual investors only, if they so chose, although metadata about accepted partners will be made available and any partners who are welcome are value adding to our proposal.
  • Our costs, strategy, performance, income, investments and donations shall be public.
  • Our capitalization model is simple for this: Jade1 offering.  Capital calls are made in USD or “in kind” to pay for infrastructure, labor and marketing costs. Out the other end come eos tokens for partners.  When the USD are spent, management can make capital calls and partners receive the option to answer the call within 30days or cede their proportions to management,  who will buy it while it finds the appropriate new partner to fill the role.  We have standing letters of credit from two firms of up to $500,000, payable within 2 days time, to cover for any necessary “unforseen” events, in case .

To engage the voting EOS tokenholders in an ethical fashion

  • We invite all eos holders to vote for us because of the benefits we provide to the EOS blockchain network as a whole, and not because of direct payment attributable to a particular vote.  We aim to inspire and educate the eos holders about the virtues of keeping voting separate from investing as a way to safeguard the network.
  • Our partners hold units in the “jade 1” offering, which entitle them to receive most of the eos we earn as Block Producers, until the offering expires and we raise additional funds in USD from partners.  We have assembled a broad partner pool that we believe guarantees sound capitalization, as long as there is expected network health and  as long as management succeeds at gaining the trust of the eos voters and  as stewards of their system.   We have established lines of credit to accomodate for any crunch our model could run into, whether it be rapid network growth requiring rapid capital deployment or anything else. We visualize these “jade” offerings as DAC tokens in the future, and will innovate until ready for open market offerings, if found to be an appropriate model as experience accumulates. We believe this model to properly allign the incentives of management, BP partners and eos tokenholders.


In the year 374 A.D, close to the mayan long count date of, The king of Teotihuacán, “Owl who will strike”, had grown tired of the corrupt regime governing Tikal, whose powerful had  unjustly taken advantage, extracting wealth willy nilly from the surrounding cities based on fear, ineptitude and repression.  “Owl who will Strike” wise as he was, knew that the lands to the east and south were ready for a better order.  He  summoned his council of elders who chose a visitor, a leader who had fled the corrupt Tikal regime, who had impressed the court with his valor and wit.  His name was Fire is Born, Siyac Cac, and he was selected to lead a mission to replace this regime with a new dynasty, a dynasty of hope.

Siyac kak, Fire is born, led a large committee of artisans, scribes, merchants, nobles  and warriors across the lands towards Tikal. Along the way, they peacefully exchanged with each of the main cities in between and let them all know that with them travelled the soon to be new king Ahau of Tikal, Yax Nuun Ayhin, Curly Snout Crocodile, son of Owl who will strike and only a baby at the time.

Fire is born’s committee led a successful regime change, welcome by the people of Mesoamerica, who were tired of the corruption that gripped Tikal and had robbed them of peace for so long. After years of efforts,  Yax Nuun Ayin was accepted by the people as ahau and was married to an honest lady of the Tikal court. Their children, were the dynasty responsible for over 250 years of peace and prosperity in the region, monuments of which still stand tall in the jungle to this day. Their cosmovision and delivery on promises inspired civilizations throughout  MesoAmerica whose traditions live on to this day.

We draw inspiration from this picturesque interpretation of past events and will work with all our might to to usher in peacefully, the change to a better order, a better system.   We wish to foster the adoption of the EOS system within the local cultures in a way that builds value for everyone and wins the hearts of the people. We hope to help allow for a renaissance to occur, hopefully to be known in the future as the “New Classic” period of Mesoamerica’s history.
